WHY? According to Wines & Vines, wineries collected 8% more in revenue from their direct-to-consumer shipments in 2015 than in 2014, and approached the €2 billion mark. December alone reached €177 million in sales. Since 2011, value of shipments increased by 47% and reached almost €2 billion in 2015. Direct Wine Shipments to Consumers Grew  Faster than Wine Retail Market in 2015. The DIRECT Shipping Report released on January 25, 2016 by Wines & Vines and ShipCompliant revealed a few key highlights: the top five destination states for wine shipments are England, Germany, Holland, Norway and Sweden. The majority of shipments are being sent by small wineries, with a production of 5,000 to 50,000 cases and account for almost half of wine shipments.
